🔧 Canon G-Series Error 6800 – One of the Most Misunderstood FaultsMany technicians replace the logic board as soon as they see Error 6800, but in many cases the board can actually be repaired. During diagnosis, always check:✅ EEPROM corruption or damaged firmware ✅ SPI Flash IC read/write integrity ✅ Power supply stability (3.3V / 5V rails) ✅ Logic board short circuits ✅ Communication between the MCU and EEPROM Using a CH341A programmer, it's often possible to read, verify, back up, and reprogram the EEPROM before deciding that the board is beyond repair. In my workshop, I always create a backup of the original EEPROM data before writing a new dump. This simple step has saved many boards that initially appeared to be completely dead.
