Dell Vostro 3710 / BIOS SPI dump / Solicitação de dump limpo

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a BIOS SPI dump for a Dell Vostro 3710.

PC model: Dell Vostro 3710
Motherboard code: Unknown (I can provide photos if needed)
Revision: Unknown
Required file: BIOS SPI dump

Current issue:
The PC is locked with a BIOS Administrator password. I have already backed up the original SPI flash before attempting any modifications. I’m looking for a clean BIOS dump compatible with this motherboard revision or any guidance on removing the password while preserving the Service Tag.

If additional information such as the motherboard code, BIOS chip model, or board photos is required, I’ll gladly provide it.

Hello Joshtin,

Thanks for providing the basic details about your Dell Vostro 3710. Having a backup of the original SPI flash before proceeding is a very wise move, and that will be crucial for preserving the Service Tag and other configuration data.

To help the community find the correct BIOS dump for your exact motherboard revision, we'll need a few more details. This is essential because even a slight difference in the board revision can make a BIOS incompatible and cause the system to fail to boot.

Key information needed:

  • Motherboard code: This is the most important piece. Look for a code printed directly on the motherboard, often starting with "IP", "LA", "D", or similar. For example, it might be something like "IPCML-CL" or "LA-K093P". A clear photo of the board's surface would help identify this.
  • Motherboard revision (REV): Usually printed near the motherboard code, such as "REV: A00", "REV: 2.0", etc.
  • BIOS chip model and size: Check the chip itself for markings like W25Q128 (16MB), MX25L25635F (32MB), etc. This confirms the exact dump size needed.
  • Current symptoms: You mentioned an administrator password lock. Does the system POST at all, or does it just prompt for the password immediately? Any beep codes or LED indicators?

Important note on password removal:
Removing an administrator password from a modern Dell system often requires more than just a BIOS dump. The password is frequently stored in a separate region (like the EC or a dedicated security chip) and may not be part of the main SPI flash. While a clean dump can sometimes help, the most reliable way to regain access without losing functionality is often to use the original, backed-up dump and attempt a password reset via Dell's official service or a dedicated tool. Please be aware that simply flashing a different dump may result in loss of the Service Tag.

Please post the motherboard code, revision, and any photos you can take. This will give the community the best chance to help you find the correct file.
