When you just have adapter in, no battery in does the laptop switch on?. If not then you have a problem in the charging circuit either faulty fets no Acdet signal or faulty charging Ic . If you just have adapter in no battery and power can be switched on then also its a charging circuit or charging Ic issue if the battery does not charge. It sounds like its not detecting the ac adapter..
Are you saying it only works with the battery and if you plug in the ac adapter it shuts down? If so look at the charging Ic section and check the fets on the AC in side also charging Ic could be faulty and it switches off the fet on the battery side and does not switch on the fet/fets on the Ac side.
Hi if you have a bench supply you can inject 3v (or even a lower voltage , with current limited to half of an amp to start with )into the side of the coils leading down to KBC and see if it shows short and if it gets hot. Then its very easy using low melt or Chipquik solder and flux to remove KBC/SIO.
Thank you for the reply/ Does your motherboards PCH get very very hot when its switched off. Also do you mean the 8 pin bios chip near the wifi port and the PCH chip u36? Also does the bios package from manufacturers come with both this and the main bios in seperate files or are they the one file ? if so how to seperate both bios from 1 file?
Hi Im working on this motherboard. When on standby PCh get very hot. Sometimes unit will not start fan and only +3valw and +5Alws voltages present. Other times when the unit is cold fan starts and many other voltages come but always unit shuts down after startup and cannot start again until power is removed and reinserted. Also I do not have schematic for rev:1.0 only .2 and .3.
Any help would be appreciated
